DNA editing before birth could one day massively expand lifespans | New Scientist

More and more the idea is being put out there by Mainstream Media (MSM) that germline DNA editing is viable and safe. Current research shows that as high as 50% of CRISPR-Cas9 edits prove dubious at best, but some actually cause harm. Off-target edits and deleterious epigenetic effects could leave innocent descendants suffering for generations. This science requires longterm research to follow anyone whose cells are ‘adjusted’ to detect any and all side effects.

Bottom line: Gene editing is big money right now, which means it is a drum that will continue to be sounded.
