Obama’s Condition: A ‘Contiguous’ Palestinian State

In yesterday’s UNGA speech, President Barack Obama called for the start to negotiations regarding peace in Israel.

According to today’s Reuter’s article:

Obama told the U.N. “the time has come to re-launch negotiations — without preconditions — that address the permanent-status issues: security for Israelis and Palestinians; borders, refugees and Jerusalem.”

The U.S. leader added that “the goal is clear: two states living side by side in peace and security — a Jewish State of Israel, with true security for all Israelis; and a viable, independent Palestinian state with contiguous territory.” [emphasis SKG]

Isn’t it a bit, shall we say, disingenuous, to state that there would be ‘no pre-conditions’ and then state a pre-condition? Apparently, President Obama intends that only Netanyahu cannot state any pre-condition. And how curious that President Obama would employ the phrase, ‘peace and security’. The people of Israel and their leaders would be wise to consider I Thessalonians 5:3:

When people say, “There is peace and security,” destruction will strike them as suddenly as labor pains come to a pregnant woman, and they will not be able to escape.

Contiguous territory? According Merriam-Webster, contiguous implies an unbroken line of connectivity.  How can the West Bank and Gaza strip join to form a Palestinian state that is contiguous? Here’s a map (from globalsecurity.org):

Does President Obama intend to run a road from the West Bank to Gaza, or does he intend to cut a swath out of Israel? Note that Jerusalem lies on the edge of the West Bank. If any ‘cutting’ is done, Obama may well run it right through Jerusalem, which is already a politically divided city.

If indeed, it is Obama’s plan to ‘divide the land’, then he would do well to consider Daniel’s prophecy.

In Chapter 11, verses 36-45, we read:

36“The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place. 37He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all. 38Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses; a god unknown to his fathers he will honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts. 39He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price.e

40“At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood. 41He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand. 42He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape. 43He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Nubians in submission. 44But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many. 45He will pitch his royal tents between the seas atf the beautiful holy mountain. Yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.

The King James translates חלק (transliteration: chalaq) in verse 39 a bit differently:

Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain. [emphasis SKG]

President Obama would do well to reconsider any political actions that stipulate dividing ‘the beautiful city’ or God’s holy mountain. Yet, according to many sources, including a July article at World Net Daily, dividing Jerusalem is precisely what Obama intends to do.

The good news for the Bride of Christ is that fulfillment of Daniel 11 not only verifies that God’s word is true, but it also signals an end to the greatest war ever fought, the ongoing war between the followers of Lucifer and the children of the Almighty Lord God YHWH.

Time is growing short. Which side are you on?
