Forced to take some ‘down time’

AS MANY of you know, I’ve been fighting a fibromyalgia flare-up for several days now. It had gotten a bit better, but it’s now flared into an inferno, becoming a major hindrance to my ability to think much less write coherently. After praying about it, I’ve decided to take a break from the internet and do some analog things like read ‘paper’ books. Crazy, I know.

I’ll be spending time with Sam on the front porch and basically lolly-gagging around while my aching body heals. The PID News site will continue to update the feeds, but there won’t be any new feature stories for a while.

More than likely, we won’t be producing PID Radio daily again until I’m back up to snuff. Discussing news means reading it–which I’m trying to avoid. Derek will continue to post archived shows, so keep checking in. Also, his VFTB (View from the Bunker) will continue to post fresh interviews each Sunday.

I won’t be answering email, since I’m trying to stay off the internet. I can tell you it won’t be easy, but I’m convinced that’s what I have to do for now. See you again in a couple of weeks (I hope!).

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

  3. I pray things are better soon Sharon, meanwhile you put your feet up and have some good snacks. Always makes me feel better.

  4. Sharon, I too had fibromyalgia and osteopenia. I am a healthcare practitioner who decded to find my own way. I came up with a plan that leaves me with little to no pain and is reasonably easy to maintain. My regimine consists of “Primal Defense” 1 or 2 a day on an empty stomache with 8 oz’s of water, this is to help the bowel absorb the following nutrients. I take only 1 PD a day for maintenance, first thing in the morning, 15 minutes before my first cup of coffee. I take my multi-vtamin after I eat. I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning, but water the rest of the day with an occasional cup or glass, (depending on the season), of tea. I eat reasonably healthy with an occasional, 3 to 4 nights a week, 1/2 glass of red wine. At bedtime, I take a calcium supplement with 1ooo mgs. of calcium with 250 mg’s of magnesium. If that causes constipation I take 250 mg’s more of magnesium. This is a very simple to do routine once you get into it. I hope it helps as much as it does for me. Deb

  5. Sharon, I’m sorry I forgot to mention the 1000 to 2000 IU’s of vitamin D3 I take, again depending on the season, ( wintertime more). Also, give this regimen a couple of months should you decide to try it.
