It’s Here! Time for NaNo!

Well, everyone, the event we’ve been waiting for since December 1 of last year is finally here–National Novel Writing Month! Some of you may have stayed up late to type those first, frenzied lines just after midnight, but I am an ‘early to bed, early to rise’ sort, so I started my 2010 project around 6am this morning.

My book takes place in and around Taos, New Mexico, so I’m spending most of my time this morning researching the pueblo tribe living there. I’ll post my day’s writing this evening before bed.

Congratulations to all who’ve chosen this mad task–may your day end with a high word count!

Are you ready for NaNo?

DO YOU have your snacks laid in and properly organized? Have you arranged your writing area; prepared a comfy chair or cleaned off an old desk? Have you picked out your favorite music for inspiration while typing that bestseller? Sunday night, at one minute past midnight (your local time), the entire, mad, worldwide marathon begins as the clackety clack of keys echoes across the globe.

If you’ve not yet signed up, there’s still time! See you back here on Monday, when I’ll publish a link to my online novel (the rough draft version–just as I type it during NaNo). Enjoy your weekend of ‘freedom’. NaNo is all consuming (in a wacky, wonderful way!).
