I Pledge Allegiance to–Obama?

Did Las Vegas children pledge allegiance to a photo like this one?

NOTE: At least one website is reporting that the linked article and the story reflect a ‘hoax’. My website is listed by one such site as ‘hate-filled’. Hmm. Just because I disagree with the notion of pledging to a man? I wouldn’t agree with pledging to Bush either. My allegiance is with the Lord.

Here’s what the original publisher of the article say about this hoax rumor:

Note: the blogosphere is now saying this is a hoax because the school has not been named or the school district has not confirmed it. Instead of seeing this as a situation that was amicably resolved, it is seen as an attack on Obama, which it never was, and an attack on the flag, which it never was. It is not a hoax.

EVERY school child can recite it. We begin even in preschool, standing at our desks, hands on hearts, sometimes half-asleep, mouthing the words:

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice forever.”

This pledge–these thirty words–have been inspired and divided peoples for decades. Atheists want to remove ‘under God’, while others simply object to any oaths (Quakers, for example). However, a school in Clark County, Florida, is taking this age-old pledge in a brand new, disturbing direction. The pledge now includes a huge image of Obama–and the pledge is said in a darkened room.

The cat was let out of the bag when a first grade student in Clark County, Nevada told his mother that “he didn’t want to go back to school anymore.” The reason the child did not wish to return shocked the mother:

…the boy said that during the Pledge of Allegiance the teacher put up a large image of Obama next to the flag. Thinking that the boy might be exaggerating, the man asked his son if he was sure, and suggested that by “large” he might mean an 8×10 photo of the president. The boy apparently said “No, it is a large picture of Obama and when we are done, the teacher turns off the image.”

A second parent verified the chilling report. The first grade teacher, unnamed in the article, was using the classroom’s overhead projector to illuminate a “full body image of Obama” standing in front of six US flags (the notion of ‘six’ resonates, considering the implications of this oath to a man).

To their credit, parents expressed outrage over the practice, and updates to the article reveal that the school has insisted that the first grade teacher would now leave the lights on during the pledge so the classroom flag could be seen, and that the image of Obama would not accompany the pledge.

While that’s comforting–for now–one has to ask WHY would any teacher think it appropriate to have children pledge allegiance to the PRESIDENT and not the FLAG and the REPUBLIC?

This ‘pledge to Obama’ is a disturbing and frightening trend. A recent celebrity video features Hollywood elites pledging to help Obama in his ‘lonely job’. No, they are not directly pledging allegiance to Obama–not in words–but the subtext implies it.

And let’s not forget the ‘Obama Youth’ music video and this disturbing, militant style Obama pledge video Warning: the title of the second linked video is in itself disturbing–and does not reflect this writer’s sentiments.

These two videos reflect youth indoctrination into a new American belief-system–belief in a man, not in an ideal.

The second video in particular mirrors the militant devotion the Russian youth group Nashi has for Vladimir Putin. Nashi forms a political wing for Putin, even participating in group marriages for the purpose of providing children for Mother Russia.

This sort of indoctrination lies all too close to Hitler youth and Lebensborn. Is that the next step in the Obama Nation? Pledges to marry and propagate? Or perhaps a pledge to remain single and bear no children? Obama has made no secret of his desire to expand abortion on demand by removing state’s rights to determine law.

According to the website for National Right to Life:

[H.R. 1964–The Freedom of Choice Act–FOCA] flatly invalidates any “statute, ordinance, regulation, administrative order, decision, policy, practice, or other action” of any federal, state, or local government or governmental official (or any person acting under government authority) that would “deny or interfere with a woman’s right to choose” abortion, or that would “discriminate against the exercise of the right . . . in the regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or information.”

If passed and signed, FOCA will crush states’ rights regarding abortion. Obama’s nation will become more and more centralized into a de facto dictatorship.

Hail to the Chief? Hardly. If this momentum continues, before long, we’ll be asked to ‘worship the Chief’. As a Christian, I can pledge to a country, but I cannot, will not pledge to a man, unless that man is my Lord and King, Jesus Christ.

  1. It is terrifying. My 11 year old came home from school last week and wanted to show me something (on YouTube) they watched in school called “America’s song”. I was mortified when the words came “I can’t believe this is His will” and later in the song they sing praise to “Barack Obama”. I discussed it with her and told her that if any teacher wanted them to watch it again you say “I’m not allowed”. I will be following up with letters to all my childrens’ teachers as well as the music teacher and the principal. I couldn’t believe how my daughter thought that song was so “cool and patriotic” and we discussed how things aren’t always as they seem. Thank you for your article.

  2. Shame on you for spreading this tale. Gossip is unbecoming in any guise, especially when it can’t be confirmed as accurate.

It looks like ‘blog wars’. The original site has posted this:

  4. Sharon, you have committed a grave error in reporting anything negative about our “Great Prince” Obama. As with others around the internet who have had the unmitigated gall to exercise even a portion of their rights as American citizens, the Obamaites are incensed you or anyone should dissent from the communal norm. At this moment, your lapse in refusing to burn a pinch of incense to Caesar is only a faux pas. Tomorrow? Who knows? It may mean your incarceration into one of those oft rumored “re-education” centers. And as I see from the comments section, even here we have our guardians of the godling. Best to keep quiet in these times, Sharon or you can join myself and a minority of concerned Christians who have not yet drank the Kenyan Kool Aid as we prepare to retreat to the “Catacombs” to whisper our dissent in hushed tones. We may be doing this anyway in the not too distant future when as genuine Christians, we seek to continue the worship and praise of the “true God”, Jesus Christ, the Lord and “only” Savior of our nation and mankind.

  6. Tonight on Hannity on the Fox News Network, I listened to one of his guests tell how she was appalled when students were allowed to recite the “Pledge to Obama” in a certain elementary school. (The students’ faces were blurred for anonymity, not sure why the school itself or the principal was not named on the tape that was being aired.) The guest told the audience that she had actually attended this particular school and was also familiar with the principal who sanctioned this unconstitutional act. She also made the insightful comment that the principal was not upset about the atrocious act which he had allowed to take place, but by the fact that the tape of the children’s recitation was on the air. By the way, the guest and former student was a black woman, so she cant be labeled a racist.
The guest was appalled that students who don’t have to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and are not allowed to pray in school, were not only allowed, but influenced using peer pressure to pledge to a “person.” She realized that if a child had dared to bow his head in prayer, then one would certainly see the principal intervene because school prayer is unconstitutional. Well guess what, so is the indoctrination of school children. They have a curriculum, and a person’s personal political persuasion is NOT part of it, not even the principal’s! Make No Mistake About It. This principal knew exactly what he was doing, and he got caught on camera.
